Michigan is still nice

Hello friends and foes and everyone in-between,

This is my sixth day in Michigan. The weather has gone from sunny and 90 degrees to rainy and 60 degrees. Due to the 100% humidity level (who knew it would be so humid next to Lake Superior?), I’ve decided to switch from camping in my tent to spending the night at a hotel.

In case you didn’t already know, Michigan’s a great state. Very lovely. Below are some sites I’ve seen so far in the past 24 hours.

An old lighthouse on Grand Island near Munising

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It was very cloudy so the colors weren’t as striking as some of the photos you would see on Google Images, but still pretty.
Eh! Burger in Munising. BBQ Burger with seasoned fries and drink, about eight bucks. Very tasty.
Of course, no road trip is complete without a trip to the local overpriced hipster cafe. I had a Burundi pour over that was delicious. Marquette.
Not to be confused with the Sugarloaf Mountain in South America.
But still pretty. If the clouds weren’t there, I’m sure I could’ve seen more of the horizon (duh). This is a shot facing Lake Superior. You can see a little bit of the water in the middle of the photo.

This place was weird…
Angry God.
OK, this might be accurate.
Not sure which to be more worried about: the fact that this elephant is pink, or that it looks like it may have chickenpox.

And, of course, a selfie next to Lake Superior.

Best wishes,

Tom
